Pulled pork picnic

FRANKFORT — Frankfort United Methodist Church will host its seventh annual pulled pork picnic on Friday, Aug. 16.The meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, 537 Crystal Ave. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 11 and younger. Two-person show

GLEN ARBOR — Watercolor artists Oral Carper and Harriett Mittelberger have paired up for a two-person show at the Glen Arbor Art Association. .The joint show opens with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the Glen Arbor Art Association, 6031 S. Yoga Fest

VANDERBILT — Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat Center will host its third annual Yoga Fest weekend Friday, Aug. 16, through Sunday, Aug. 18.The event will be held at the center’s property off I-75, one exit north of Gaylord. FLOW celebration

TRAVERSE CITY — FLOW (For Love Of Water) will host a celebration on Saturday, Aug. 17, to honor Great Lakes Society members.

Great Lakes Society members share a common goal — to protect the common waters of the Great Lakes Basin. Members provide vital funding to FLOW with a four-year pledge of support.

The event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at The Workshop Brewing Company, 221 Garland St. There will be performances by pianist Jimmy Olson, swing duo The True Falsettos and others. FLOW also will present two Beacon Awards to individuals who have shown exceptional passion and dedication to protecting the Great Lakes. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
