Army Capt. Allie Scott has graduated from the Defense Information School's Public Affairs Qualification Course. A Michigan native and 2003 graduate of Western Michigan University's ROTC program, she accepted her commission in 2003. Capt. Scott has served in Germany, Iraq, Alaska and Washington D.C. She now moves on to a position in Fort Bragg, N.C. with a following deployment in Afghanistan. She is the daughter of Philip Scott, of Kingsley, and Constance Scott, of Lansing.

Army Sgt. Nathan Hadd has arrived for duty at the U.S. Army Recruiting Station in Bay City. Hadd, a recruiter with six years of military service, is assigned to the Great Lakes Recruiting Battalion, Lansing.

He is the son of Tim Hadd of Essexville, and Mary Marchin, of Cedar. His wife, Krystle, is the daughter of Kris Snow, of Bay City.

The sergeant is a 2002 graduate of Garber High School, Essexville.
