TRAVERSE CITY -- A Skill Share on Saturday will offer a variety of workshops to help participants become more self-reliant and earth-friendly.
The event will start at 9 a.m. at the Traverse City Community Gardens near the barn at the Grand Traverse Commons. Workshop topics and times are "Permi-Puppet Theater" 9 a.m., "Rewilding" 9:30 a.m., "Gardening for 'Squares'" 10-11 a.m., "Fairy Finding Fundamentals" 10-11 a.m., "Seed Bomb-makin'" noon, "Compost Building and Compost Tea" 1-2 p.m., Nature Journaling" 2-3 p.m., "Family Herbal" 2-3 p.m.; "The Wonderful World of Soil: 3-4 p.m., "Frog Walk" 4-5 p.m.; "Plant Swap" 4-6 p.m., and a potluck with puppet shows and music at 6 p.m.
Participants may bring a sack lunch and beverage and a dish to share for an evening potluck. This is a zero-trash event.
