Concert to benefit Women's Center

TRAVERSE CITY -- Nobody's Darlin' will perform in a concert to benefit the Women's Resource Center.

The concert will be held at Grace Episcopal Church April 12 at 7 p.m. and April 13 at 4:30 p.m.

Hemingway to visit City Opera House

LANSING -- Valerie Hemingway, author of a memoir of her years as Ernest Hemingway's secretary and her later marriage to his son, Gregory Hemingway, will tour six cities in Michigan from April 23-29.

The Michigan Humanities Council is sponsoring Hemingway's tour to celebrate "The Great Michigan Read," a statewide literature reading program featuring Ernest Hemingway's "The Nick Adams Stories."

Her tour will include a stop at the Traverse City Opera House April 28 at 7 p.m.

Evenings feature mysteries, meals

PETOSKEY -- Little Traverse Civic Theatre is partnering with Sagamore's at the Inn at Bay Harbor to present Murder Mystery evenings.

Sagamore's is offering hors d'oeuvres and a three-course dinner as the theater group presents "Blood on the Red Carpet," an interactive murder mystery. It will be presented March 29 at Sagamore's, with tickets at $59 per person.

A cash bar opens at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7. Guests solve the crime and prizes will be awarded.

Band gives twist to traditional tunes

BOYNE CITY -- Gail Gerrie and the North Country String Band will bring their blend of traditional tunes with a twist to the Wolverine Dilworth Hotel.

Song of Lakes DVD at State Theatre

TRAVERSE CITY -- Song of the Lakes will premier a new DVD, "Live at Interlochen" at the State Theatre.
