Dinner will benefit Habitat for Humanity

FRANKFORT — A spaghetti dinner tonight, Sept. 25, will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Benzie County.

The meal will be served from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Frankfort United Methodist Church, 537 Crystal Ave. Free-will donations will be accepted.

Area Christians join hands around school

TRAVERSE CITY — Christians from area churches will gather Sunday, Sept. 26, to surround Silver Lake Elementary School in prayer.

Hands Around the School, sponsored by Northern Lakes Community Church, will start at 12:30 p.m. at the school, 5858 Culver Road. For 30 minutes, participants will pray for God's protection and blessing on the students, teachers and staff.

Montessori-based children's program

TRAVERSE CITY — "Children in Worship" is a Montessori-based program for children ages 4 to second grade.

The program is offered at 10 a.m. Sundays at Northern Lakes Community Church, 5444 Herkner Road. It is designed to help children respond to the stories of Jesus and prepare them to worship God with more understanding and spirit.

Sacred Quest weekend retreat

PETOSKEY — The Sacred Quest Team will offer a spirituality retreat at the Augustine Center.

The retreat will start at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, and conclude at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3. Participants will experience dialogue, prayer, music, companionship and more. The suggested minimum donation for the retreat, two-nights lodging and six meals is $235. Registration is required.

Couples invited to marriage retreat

TRAVERSE CITY — Couples in premarriage and all seasons of marriage are invited to learn how to fight their way to a great marriage at a two-day retreat.

"Taking Off The Gloves: Fighting Your Way To a Great Marriage" will meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Bay Pointe Community Church, 6880 Secor Road. Couples will learn to identify marriage conflict as a way to a closer relationship. The cost is $65 per couple.
