The Rev. Daniel E. Deutsch has accepted the position of interim pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Traverse City. His installation will take place during all services the weekend of May 17 and 18.

The Rev. Deutsch is a graduate of Valparaiso University with a Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary. He has served in Texas, Missouri, Ohio, and most recently, the Alpena area.

First Lutheran Church of Suttons Bay was host to the Great Lakes Pastors Conference April 14, 15 and 16. A total of 28 pastors attended from Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Ohio. The pastors make up about 20 percent of the pastors in the Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
