LELAND — Chamber Music North has arranged “Classics with a Kick,” which will be performed by Traverse Symphony Orchestra musicians on Sunday.

PETOSKEY — North Central Michigan College Foundation will hold an art auction featuring art from the estate of Jack Harris, a longtime friend and supporter of the college.

WILLIAMSBURG — LochenHeath Golf Club will host its third annual Chip in For Hospice charity golf tournament for Munson Hospice on Friday, Sept. 20.

Parents’ night out
KALKASKA — The Peoples Church of Kalkaska, 216 S. Cherry St., is offering to watch children so parents can enjoy a night out.
Certified professionals will care for children from 6-9 p.m. on Saturdays, Sept. 21, Oct. 19, Nov. 9 and Dec. 7. Parents also can leave their children at the church from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, so they have time to shop for Christmas presents.
Activities include board games, a movie, outdoor games, foosball and air hockey. There also are nursery toys and treats. All parents need to do is make a reservation, sign their children in and fill out a medical form before leaving for an evening out as a couple. For details or reservations, call the church, 258-9365.
Almost Rare Books
TRAVERSE CITY — For the first time in the sale’s history, the Friends of the Traverse Area District Library will host a preview event prior to its Used and Almost Rare Book Sale.
The preview will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the library, 610 Woodmere Ave. It features a silent auction of rare/collectible and signed books and an opportunity to shop for books before the sale opens to the public. Admission is $10 per person.
The sale will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday when books will be 50 percent off. Admission is free. All proceeds benefit library materials and programs.
