Classic cars shine at annual show

Northwestern Michigan College's Automotive Technology Program will host the seventh annual Mike McIntosh Memorial Classic Car and 4x4 Show 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at NMC's Automotive Service Technology Building on Aero Park Drive. Admission is free, and will include a silent auction and food available for purchase. Proceeds benefit NMC's automotive program.

Community festival

The East Bay Community-Fest is 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at East Bay Calvary Church on Hammond Road. The free event features an action-packed "Kid-Zone," a classic car show, live music and food. For more information, call 645-5007.

The Music House Museum in Acme is holding a Family Day on Sunday, Sept. 9. The event is noon to 4 p.m. There will be guest musicians, silent movies and games on the front lawn. Book sale

The Blair Library Committee is holding a used book sale today, Friday, Sept. 7, at the Blair Township Park. The sale is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the park at the corner of County Road 633 and Vance Road in Grawn. All proceeds go to the branch library fund.

Class for the birds

Grass River Natural Area is holding a bird-related class from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8. Help create a bird feeding station for birds that winter at the natural area. Advance registration required. Contact or call 533-8314 for more information.
