Met tickets on sale now
TRAVERSE CITY — The Metropolitan Opera’s Peabody and Emmy Award-winning series “The Met: Live in HD” returns to the State Theatre this fall with 10 live transmissions beamed in high definition.
The series runs Oct. 5-May 10 and features new productions of “Eugene Onegin,” “Falstaff,” “Prince Igor” and “Werther,” and the return of audience favorite “La Boheme.”
Tickets go on sale today for State Theatre members and Aug. 30 for the general public. Prices are $26 for adults, $24 for State Theatre and Met Opera Members, $22 for seniors 65 and over, and $18 for children and students.

LELAND — The public is invited to a weekend exhibit of recent paintings by Leelanau artist David Grath.
A reception will be hosted from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Old Art Building. The exhibit continues Saturday.

ALDEN — Local artists will offer work in all mediums at affordable prices during the Alden Depot Arts Festival.

Twisted Fish exhibit
ELK RAPIDS — An exhibit of new work by abstract impressionist painter Antonio “Tony” Macioce closes Twisted Fish Gallery’s Summer of Fun show schedule.
Macioce’s art is new to the northern Michigan art scene. It may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday through Sept. 22 at the gallery, 10443 S. Bayshore Dr.

Music ‘Of Note’
LELAND — Sylvia and Jeff Norris will close the “Of Note” free summer concert series at Leland United Methodist Church.
The duo will be joined by friends to present “Give My Regards to Broadway” at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church, 106 N. 4th St. Reservations are not required.
SUMMIT CITY — Live music will highlight a country dance on Saturday.
