TRAVERSE CITY — “Tarzan the Musical” continues its Milliken Auditorium run on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Miracle Productions show is family friendly and features singing, acting, dancing and aerial choreography, including flying ‘apes.’ Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for seniors and students at 800-836-0717 and mynorthtickets.com.

‘Anchor Day’ films

EMPIRE — The Empire Museum will sponsor an evening of movies on Friday at the Empire Township Hall.

“Anchor Day” movies include “Empire Anchor Recovery” at 7 p.m.; “Glen Lake’s Rescue” at 7:30 p.m., featuring underwater video; “History of Sleeping Bear Dunesmobiles” and “History of #9 Dunesmobile” at 8 p.m.; and “Empire Anchor Recovery” at 9 p.m. Donations are appreciated. Free popcorn will be served.

Ceramics exhibit

OMENA — “Wood, Water, Stone,” an exhibit of ceramic art celebrating the beauty of natural textures and forms by Elizabeth DeLyria, will be featured at the Tamarack Gallery.

The exhibit opens with a reception from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and continues through Aug. 9. The gallery is located on M-22. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Call 386-5529 or visit www.tamarackartgallery.com.

Art Park concert

THOMPSONVILLE — Ruth and Max Bloomquist will bring their folk, bluegrass and country sounds to Michigan Legacy Art Park’s Summer Sounds Concert Series.

The duo will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the art park on the grounds of Crystal Mountain Resort. Rides to the amphitheatre start at 6:15 p.m. for those unable to walk the trail. In case of rain, the concert will be held indoors at the resort.

Crescent Woods

TRAVERSE CITY — Crescent Woods Gatherings Summer Concert Series opens Saturday with the Aged to Perfection readers theater troupe and a family concert led by Mary Sue Wilkinson.

The performances start at 7:30 p.m., rain or shine, at Crescent Woods outdoor amphitheater at Unity of Traverse City, 3600 Five Mile Road. Cushions will be provided for seating on stone slabs and attendees also may bring chairs. There also is a labyrinth on the property and a playground for children. A donation of $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 11 and younger is suggested. No one will be turned away.
