Harry Goldson concert

TRAVERSE CITY — The jazz sound of Harry Goldson and Friends will take center stage at 7 p.m. July 17 on the Grand Lawn of Grand Traverse Pavilions. The concert is part of the Concert On The Lawn series.

The performance is free and open to the public. There will be picnic concessions beginning at 6:15 p.m. including grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, beverages, sweets and Moomer’s ice cream.

For more information, call 932-3027. In case of rain or extreme heat (90 degrees plus) the concert will be canceled.

Cabaret 2014

TRAVERSE CITY — The Benzie County Community Chorus will perform Cabaret 2014, featuring music from Broadway, blues, and the big band era to benefit the City Opera House at 8 p.m. July 18.

Tickets are $23 and $18 and are available at the City Opera House box office, online at cityoperahouse.org or by calling 941-8082.

Artists’ Market

LELAND — The 18th annual Artists’ Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday at the Old Art Building. Featured works include fine art paintings, pottery, silver and beaded jewelry, woodcarving, fiber, folk art, sculpture, gourmet foods and quality artisan wares.

Dune Climb concert

GLEN ARBOR — The 16th annual Dune Climb concert will take place at 7 p.m., Sunday at the foot of the Dune Climb in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

This year’s performers will be the Moxie Strings, a combination of fiddler Diana Ladio and cellist Alison Lynn along with percussionist, Fritz McGirr.

There is no charge for the concert; however, a National Park pass is required for parking. Free shuttle buses will provide transportation to overflow parking lots. Bring chairs or blankets to sit on. Some folding chairs are also provided in front of the stage. In the event of rain, the show will go on at the Glen Arbor Town Hall.

Tickets on sale

TRAVERSE CITY — Tickets are now on sale for Old Town Playhouse Young Company’s “Peter Pan, Jr.,” based on the Disney film and J. M. Barrie’s play and novel. Performances are at 7 p.m., July 18 and 2 and 7 p.m., July 19.

Prices are $15 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available by calling 947-2210, online at www.oldtownplayhouse.com, or in person at the OTP box office.
