Dinner for 4-H
ELK RAPIDS — The Elk Rapids Lions Club will host a “Real Cowboy Dinner” today and Saturday prior to the Elk Rapids Rotary Show.
The meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. each day in the Elk Rapids High School cafeteria. The cost is $10 per person and proceeds benefit the Backyard Bunch 4-H Club with members from Central Lake, Williamsburg and Kewadin.
GLEN ARBOR — The Glen Arbor Art Association will host an opening reception for an exhibit of work by the Leelanau Women Artists (LWA) from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Glen Arbor Art Association, 6031 S. TRAVERSE CITY — ISLAND will sponsor a program on designing farms and homesteads followed by a walk-about at its Bellaire homestead property.
“Designing Resilient Farms and Homesteads” will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Grace Episcopal Church, 341 Washington St. A donation of $5 to $25 is suggested, but no one will be turned away.
Newman and Angelini also will lead an evaluation/design oriented walk-about from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the ISLAND homestead site, 2550 Orchard Hill Road, Bellaire. A $10 to $30 donation is suggested, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
