HarborJam sends off summer

Wreckless and The Joe Wright Experience play HarborJam tonight, Friday, Aug. 31, at the Marina Lawn Panel in Bay Harbor. The free concert starts at 6 p.m. and is provided by Bay Harbor Lake Marina and Knot Just a Bar.

Stone Circle

Stone Circle will run Saturday and Sunday this Labor Day weekend, ending the season of poetry, storytelling and music. Poet Bard Terry Wooten will host the gatherings, beginning at 9 p.m. around the fire. Stone Circle is located 10 miles north of Elk Rapids off U.S. 31. Lonesome music

Scott Haggard & Lonesome Fugitive Band perform at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1 at the VFW Hall in Lake Leelanau. General admission is $10 at the door.

Sidewalk sales

The Downtown Alden Business Association is sponsoring the 2012 Alden Sidewalk Sale Sept. 1-2. All Alden stores will offer shopping hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, rain or shine.

Sugar's Folly

"Sugar's Folly," a play written by local playwright Sue Hanson, returns in new form to the Northport Community Arts Center stage September 1-2 and 8-9. Shows are 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1; 8 and 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 2 and 9. Admission is $15 per person. Children 12 and younger are $5 each. Bridges walk

Walk Traverse City's bridges this Labor Day. Participants will gather at 8 a.m., Monday, Sept. 3 in front of the downtown State Theatre. The 3-mile walk includes crossing the Grandview Parkway, Hall Street, Union Street and Cass Street bridges. The walk ends up back at the State. No registration or fees.

Art party

Live for Art Gallery celebrates its first year in downtown Beulah with an anniversary party and artist reception 5-7 p.m., Saturday, Sept.1. Artist Sharon Dougherty's work will be featured at the gallery throughout September. For more information, call 882-9370.

Corn maze

The Old Mission Corn Maze, 3765 Old Mission Road, is open now through Halloween. This year's maze is in the shape of a barn and tractor. Twenty-five percent of profits will be donated to local education organizations. For hours and prices, visit
