Traverse Symphony Orchestra program tonight is free


TRAVERSE CITY — "Ring in the Season" with the Traverse Symphony Orchestra's Civic String Ensembles today as musicians from ages 8 to 80 perform classical string orchestra music and holiday favorites.

Beginning at 7 p.m. in the City Opera House downtown, the free, family-friendly program features pieces like "'Twas in the Moon of Wintertime," "St. Nick's Canon," the "Farandole" by Bizet, a wild pizzicato version of "Ukrainian Bell Carol" and more.

A reception will follow.

There will also be a repeat performance on Friday, Nov. 30, at 5:30 p.m. in the food court at the Grand Traverse Mall.
