Folk musician Miles to appear at Ramsdell

Songwriter also at Inside Out on Nov. 11

MANISTEE — Lynn Miles will be in concert at the Ramsdell Theater in Manistee on Friday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m. She'll also be a special guest during a show by folk artist John Gorka at Inside Out Gallery in Traverse City on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m.

Recently winning the Canadian Folk Music Award for Songwriter of the Year, Miles is currently on tour in support of her recent release, "Black Flowers Vol 3." It's a double album of old and new songs, accompanied by either solo acoustic guitar or piano.

One of Canada's most accomplished singer/songwriters, she has seven albums to her credit. She has also won multiple other Canadian Folk Music Awards and a 2003 Juno Award for Roots & Traditional Solo Album of the Year.

Miles' career has seen her move from Ottawa to Los Angeles and back again, with stops in Nashville and Austin. While her melodies range from traditional country to folk roots, her songs feature her observations of life's trials and triumphs.

As part of this "A Little Night Music" concert series and as an added feature of this show, TJ's Pub in Manistee will be hosting an afterglow that will provide a chance for the audience to meet and mingle with Miles.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, available at City Hall, Manistee Visitors Bureau, Goodys, TJ's Pub, Hokansons and Port City Organics.
