TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City native son Ryan Whyte Maloney finally can spill the beans: He’s a bona fide contestant on “The Voice.”
“It’s like winning the lottery and keeping the secret,” said Maloney, 33, of the season start of the reality TV competition.
Maloney, who now lives in Las Vegas, turned all four judges’ chairs at his blind audition which aired Monday. Judges Usher, Adam Levine, Shakira and Blake Shelton battled it out to convince the singer to join their teams. In the end Maloney chose to work with “Team Blake,” headed by country music superstar Shelton.
Maloney next will appear on the show in the battle round of competition.
