‘Wizard of Oz’ opens

TRAVERSE CITY — The St. Francis High School production of “The Wizard of Oz” opens today, Feb. 14.

Performances are at 7 p.m. today, Saturday and again Feb. 21-22; with matinees at 2 p.m. Feb. 16 and 23, at the high school on East 11th Street. Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for students ages 18 and younger and senior citizens 65 and older.

Home Expo

ACME — The Home Builders Association of the Grand Traverse Area will hold its 2014 Home Expo at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa.

Expo hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. It features exhibits by more than 125 businesses related to the region’s construction and remodeling industry. For details, visit www.hbagta.com or call 946-2305.

‘Romancing the Riesling’

TRAVERSE CITY — The Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula will host a “Romancing the Riesling” wine trail event on Saturday.

From 11 a.m.-5 p.m., participating wineries will showcase a Riesling paired with a food offering. Some wineries also will offer Riesling-themed winery tours and other Riesling-themed treats.

Blakemore Trio

SUTTONS BAY — The next Chamber Music North Arcturos Concert will feature “An Evening of Romantic Music” by the Blakemore Trio.

‘DreamRoom Classic’

TRAVERSE CITY — The third annual “DreamRoom Classic” today will benefit Child and Family Services.

Five celebrity pairs worked with Golden Fowler Home Furnishing designers to create the rooms of their dreams. The event will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. at Golden Fowler on South Garfield Avenue. The cost is $25 per person or $40 per couple and includes live music, food, wine and craft beer. New this year is a Chairs for Children silent auction featuring chairs hand-painted by area artists. Attendees also can buy $1 votes to cast for their favorite dream room.
