Oosterhouse home for the holidays

From staff reports

TRAVERSE CITY — Design expert, HGTV star and Traverse City celebrity resident Carter Oosterhouse is at it again in his hometown.

Oosterhouse, who helped build playgrounds in Frankfort and Elmwood Township and who renovated a Traverse City fire station for an HGTV holiday special, this year gave his design expertise to a life-size gingerbread house at Great Wolf Lodge.

The 36-year-old host of "Carter Can," "Red Hot & Green," "Celebrity Motor Homes" and "Million Dollar Kitchens & Baths" will visit Great Wolf Lodge Tuesday, Nov. 20, to share holiday decorating tips and talk about how parents can get the whole family involved in holiday decor. His gingerbread house design is now on display through Christmas. Guests can dine inside the house while admiring his work, with 100 percent of the $20 donation seating fee donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Meals are additional.
