Rachel Marie Sigsbey and Thomas Eugene Hartwig, both of Ann Arbor, wish to announce their engagement. The couple will marry in a ceremony on Oct. 12, 2013, in Traverse City.
The bride-elect’s father is Michael Sigsbey of Williamsburg. Her mother and stepfather are Sue and Pat Buchan of Traverse City. Rachel received a bachelor of science degree in general studies from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. A former healthcare analyst at the Center for Healthcare Research & Transformation, Rachel currently is a youth crisis line volunteer at Ozone House.
The prospective groom is the son of Tom and Lynn Hartwig of Dearborn Heights. Thomas received a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from the University of Maryland in Catonsville, Md. He received a doctor of medicine degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed the University of Michigan Psychiatry Residency Program in Ann Arbor.
Thomas is a fellow in forensic psychiatry at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry.
