Summer registration for Camp Daggett
Petoskey — Camp Daggett begins summer camp registration on Tuesday, Jan. 4, and families are encouraged to register early.
Camp Daggett offers eight one-week co-ed camping sessions starting June 19 and ending Aug. 13. Campers signing up for the June 19-25 session receive a $50 discount. Scholarships are available.

Kirtland will hold winter registration
Roscommon — Registration will be held at Kirtland Community College and the M-TEC@Kirtland-Gaylord for the upcoming winter semester.

Youth program seeks participants
Manistee — The YouthBuild Program serving Manistee, Benzie and surrounding counties will host an informational meeting Wednesday, Jan. 5, for its 2011 program cycle.
The program is for low-income youth ages 18 to 24 who have dropped out of high school and would like to improve their lives. The goal is to help participants obtain a GED or diploma, complete entry-level construction skills training and attain a nationally-recognized certification while working on building projects that provide affordable housing for homeless and low-income people, develop an appreciation for and commitment to community service, cultivate leadership skills and provide a mini-community of adults and youth committed to each other's success. The program is funded by the Department of Labor and administered by the NW Michigan Council of Governments, TBAISD, and NW Michigan WORKS!

Community Cinema Series continues
Traverse City — The Dennos Museum Center's Community Cinema Series continues Thursday, Jan. 6, with a screening of "For Once in My Life."
The film follows the 28 musicians and singers of the Spirit of Goodwill Band, all with a wide range of severe mental and physical disabilities, as they prepare for the concert of a lifetime. It will be shown at 7 p.m. at the Dennos Museum Center, 1701 E. Front St. Admission is free.
The series will continue on the first Thursday of the month through May. It is a community outreach program of CMU Public Television and the Dennos Museum Center.
