Kiwanis Students of the Month

The following have been named Students of the Month by the Kiwanis Club of Traverse City.

-- Hannah Bach, a senior at Kingsley High School, is the daughter of Rick and Connie Bach. She currently serves as president of the Student Council and is a member of the National Honor Society. Hannah was named 1st Team All-Conference, All-Region Dream Team and 2nd Team All-State as a junior in volleyball; was Honorable Mention All-Conference in basketball; and was named All-Conference for track. She served as captain of all three teams. Hannah has participated in band for eight years; playing flute for five years, bassoon for three years, and was a member of the drill team (rifles) in marching band. She has been a member of 4-H for 10 years, where she has raised and shown rabbits, chickens, swine and beef, as well as serving as treasurer. Hannah plans to become a lawyer, but has not decided on a college.

-- Chelsea Deisler, a senior at St. Francis Catholic High School, is the daughter of Kris and Virginia Deisler. She served as class representative for National Honor Society in her freshman year. Chelsea has participated on the volleyball and basketball teams, also serving as captain, as well as on the equestrian team. She was named a state champion in Division D for the 2008 MIHA Equestrian teams, and won a Gladiator Award in volleyball and basketball. Chelsea enjoys reading and plans to attend Alma College to study lower elementary education.
