-- Gail Hansul of Traverse City recently graduated from Baker College Center for Graduate Studies with a Master of Business Administration.

-- Beau Wilcox, an eighth-grade student at Elk Rapids Middle School, was awarded a vocal scholarship to the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake. In additon to being a member of the SATB Choir, he was selected for the Chamber Choir. Wilcox also auditioned for and was accepted to the International Choir and will tour Europe in 2010. Beau is the son of Eric and Michelle Wilcox of Williamsburg.

-- Todd R. Addis of Lake Ann graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. A 2005 graduate of Benzie Central High School, he is the son of Frank and Lori Addis of Lake Ann.

-- Manton Elementary School received a $500 grant from the Manton Area Rotary Club, an endowed fund of the Cadillac Area Community Foundation, to purchase stacking cups for each K-4 classroom, and stacking mats with precision timers for each grade level. The stacking equipment helps develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, math skills, speed, repetition and brain stimulation while playing.
