Zeta Tau Alpha sets Panellenic Dinner
TRAVERSE CITY -- The Grand Traverse Area Zeta Tau Alpha Alumnae Chapter is hosting the annual Panellenic Dinner May 8 at 6 p.m. at Mountain Jack's Restaurant.
The program for the evening will be an informational presentation about the work of Safe Passage in Guatemala City by Sharon Workman of Cedar, who is president of Great Lakes Friends of Safe Passage and is also president of Safe Passage's board of directors. Elizabeth Price, a local photographer who traveled to Guatemala City to photograph the project, will be available for questions.

Pangea Day set at the State Theatre
TRAVERSE CITY -- The inaugural Pangea Day, a global event bringing the world together through film, will be held May 10 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the State Theatre in Traverse City.
Presented by the Traverse City College Preparatory Academy in conjunction with the State Theatre, sites in Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai and Rio de Janeiro will be video conferenced live to produce a program of films, speakers, and music.

GTARSP sets luncheon meeting
TRAVERSE CITY -- Grand Traverse Area Retired School Personnel will hold a luncheon meeting at 12:30 p.m. May 13 at the Traverse City Holiday Inn on East Front Street.

Sixth grade singers from Central Grade School, under the direction of Peg Pierson, will present "Music All Around Us." Whitman to speak on nuclear power
TRAVERSE CITY -- Former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator and New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman will speak about nuclear power in Michigan and U.S. energy policy at 1 p.m. April 29 at the Hagerty Center on Northwestern Michigan College's Great Lakes Campus.
There will be opportunity for questions and dialogue with Gov. Whitman following her remarks. Gov. Whitman's appearance is free and open to the public.
