Lt. Gov. to speak in Elk Rapids

ELK RAPIDS — Michigan Lt. Gov. Brian Calley will speak Friday to business leaders in Elk Rapids.

Misty Youngson, executive director of the Elk Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, said Calley will offer a “general legislative update about what’s happening around the state.”

Calley’s speech is part of a new quarterly Lunch and Lecture Series launched by the chamber. A Feb. 7 luncheon will address travel and tourism in Antrim County and the region. An April 17 luncheon will touch on the issue of public transportation.

“We want to increase awareness on business-oriented topics for our members and non members,” said Youngson. “We want to be seen as a service organization for businesses.”

Friday’s event will be held at the Elk Rapids AmVets Post 114, 410 Bridge St. Registration and networking begins at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $20 for chamber members and $25 for non-members.
