---- — TRAVERSE CITY — Waste Management is consolidating operations in the Grand Traverse region, and will move its local headquarters on Cass Road to the company’s landfill on M-72.
A handful of staffers are relocating from the office building at 2294 Cass to Glen’s Landfill.
No layoffs will result from the move, said company spokesman Tom Horton.
“We are consolidating our operations for customer service and efficiency reasons,” Horton said.
The company offers commercial trash hauling services, including front-end loader, construction and container services in the region.
“When you look at operations for any company, you are always evaluating your best opportunities and where your business services are, and we can be most effective focusing on commercial and industrial services for northwest Michigan,” Horton said.
