n Marion Stephens, Farm Bureau Insurance Agent in Traverse City, earned the company’s Advisor of the Year award.

n Local marketing professional Karl Bastian has been selected as a judge for the American Advertising Federation’s 2014 ADDY Awards. Bastian will join a handful of other marketing professionals to review the creative efforts of ad agencies and design firms.

n Richard Neihardt and Amy Faber have joined DS Accounting and Tax Services Traverse City office. Neihardt is a bookkeeper/tax preparer and Faber as an administrative assistant/bookkeeper. Dave Holzworth, proprietor of the former D.C. Holzworth Accounting and Tax Services, retired.

n Terrapin Networks hired Dylan Helferich as a network engineer, responsible for developing and implementing client IT systems.

n Nationally certified counselor and certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor Nick Erber of Traverse City was selected to the Health Professional Recovery Committee by the Board of Counseling to represent the counseling profession.

Installation

n Pure Water Works, Inc. installed an advanced progressive flow and brine recovery water system at the Towers of the Grand Traverse Resort. The Grand Traverse Resort has its own water re-use recovery system, so keeping the salts associated with traditional water softening to a minimum saves both operational cost and lessens the environment impact.
