n Attorney Emerson Hilton has joined the Traverse City law firm of Olson, Bzdok & Howard, P.C. He practices in the areas of environmental protection and conservation, natural resources law, energy and utilities, real property and Indian law.

n Northport native Matt Voight has begun selling furniture and accessories through his online store, Milled Home Goods Co. Milled Home Goods offers handcrafted bedside tables, end tables, credenzas, cheese boards, coasters and magnet sets. n Junior Achievement of Northwest Michigan elected Michael J. Hill to its board of directors. Hill is the superintendent of the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District and a longtime advocate for Junior Achievement's financial literacy education programs for students.

n Shannon Wilcox has joined the Safety Net team as client services and communications manager. Safety Net is a Traverse City based firm specializing in managed services IT.


n Robert Gibbs and Gibbs Planning Group, both of Petoskey, are the recipient of the American Society of Landscape Architects President's Award and Chapter Design Award.

n Marion Stephens, a Farm Bureau Insurance agent in Traverse City, has earned the company's Advisor of the Month award.

n The United States Hunter Jumper Association has presented Horse Shows by the Bay Series III with the Member's Choice "Best Zone V AA Show" recognition. A total of 25 "AA" shows were held this past year in Zone V, encompassing Michigan, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana. This is the second year in a row that Horse Shows by the Bay has been declared "Best Show" in the Midwest zone.

n Three Traverse City SCORE volunteers have received the Platinum Leadership Award from the SCORE National Association. Bob Aukerman is a certified SCORE mentor, current member of the Traverse City SCORE executive committee, and chair of the SCORE workshop committee. Tanya Berg is a certified SCORE mentor, current member of the Traverse City SCORE executive committee and chair of the SCORE marketing committee. Cal Killen is a certified SCORE mentor, immediate past chairman of the Traverse City SCORE chapter and a current member of the SCORE executive committee. Logan Hardie was also recognized for 15 years of volunteer service and received SCORE's Distinguished Service Award. He has served on the SCORE executive committee.
