---- — SUTTONS BAY — Tourists and wine enthusiasts interested in checking out the wineries of the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail will soon have a centralized location to coordinate their visits.
The Leelanau Peninsula Vintners Association is opening a new office in Suttons Bay at 718 North St. Joseph St., Suite K-2. The office can be accessed directly from M-22, just north of M-204.
The office will open to the public Sept. 16.
“It’s going to be a huge resource for tourists who are coming through,” said Lorri Hathaway, the new director of the Vintners Association. “It’s a place where people can stop and ask questions and match their tours with the wineries they are most interested in.”
Matt Gregory, president of the Vintners Association, said the opening of the office “is a big moment for us.”
“It’s going to have a tremendous impact not just in helping visitors, but also in providing a place where anyone can get lots of information about the vineyards and also the county as a whole,” Gregory said.
The Vintners Association is a non-profit consisting of 25 winery members located in the Leelanau Peninsula.
