Venture capital conference returns

YPSILANTI — About three dozen companies are expected to present business plans at a two-day venture fair presented by University of Michigan’s Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies.

The Michigan Growth Capital Symposium kicked off Tuesday at the Marriott hotel in Ypsilanti. The 32nd annual event aims to connect investors with emerging Midwest businesses.

Companies seeking funding include medical device makers, drug developers and information technology service providers.

Organizers said 23 of the 36 presenting companies are from Michigan.

More than 400 entrepreneurs, researchers, investors and business leaders are expected to attend.
