Plant open house

TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse Conservation District will host a Native Plant Sale Open House today from 1 to 4 p.m. to showcase the native wildflowers, ferns and groundcover species offered during its annual Native Plant Sale.

Those interested in native plants can come to the Boardman River Nature Center, 1450 Cass, to learn more about dozens of species available for purchase to beautify and/or restore a landscape. Visit www.natureiscalling.org to learn more.

Fruit Guesstimate

SUTTONS BAY — The 58th annual Fruit Crop Guesstimate will be held June 19 at the Amway Grand in Grand Rapids.

Sponsored by the Michigan Frozen Food Packers Association, the guesstimate provides a forum for growers, processors, wholesalers and retailers to review expectations for tart cherry, sweet cherry, apple, peach and blueberry crops in Michigan and across the U.S. Registration fee is $75 per person and includes meeting materials and reception. The program starts at 2:30p .m.
