TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse Area Human Resource Association will hold a Right to Work seminar from 8 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City.

Biz after hours

SUTTONS BAY — The Leelanau Peninsula Chamber of Commerce will host Business After Hours at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, at The VI Café in Suttons Bay in their outdoor seating area, weather permitting.

Health law seminar

TRAVERSE CITY — The Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Service’s Health Insurance Consumer Assistance Program will offer “The New Health Care Law: What it Means for You” from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, in Munson Medical Center, conference rooms 1- 3.

The Munson Community Health Library-sponsored event will focus on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and how it will affect consumer and senior health coverage now and in the future. Information will be presented on the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Michigan projects get $9M in auto grants

DETROIT — Eight automotive technology projects in Michigan are getting a share of $9 million in federal funding.

U.S. Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan on Wednesday said he was pleased with the Department of Energy funding. The work is to speed development of technologies to improve vehicle fuel efficiency and help ensure U.S. automakers can compete in the global marketplace.
