n The Home Builders Association of the Grand Traverse Area, Inc. has named the winners of the 2013 Parade of Homes Awards. The People’s Choice awards went to Pathway Homes for homes with a fair market value of $145,000-$267,000 and $300,000-$375,000; Millward Custom Homes won in the category of $470,000-$500,000; and Bay Area Contracting was the winner for homes valued in the $600,000-$800,000 category.
n The Lighthouse Group — Manistee Abstract Team and Shelby State Bank have demonstrated their continued commitment to the re-opening of the Vogue Theatre by each donating $1,000. Bob Wuerfel, title president of Lighthouse Group and Mishelle Comstock, president of Shelby State Bank, pledged their gift to contribute to the final phase of the capital campaign.
n FLOW (For Love of Water), a Great Lakes water policy and education non-profit based in Traverse City, has been selected by Andrew and Amy Kohlmann as recipient of their 2013 recycling program proceeds. The owners of Signs Now recycles returned signage materials throughout the year and donates a percentage of the original product sale to a non-profit.
n Brand Tonic has added project manager Shannon Beery to their staff. The brand consulting and design firm is celebrating one year at their 14th Street location in Traverse City.
n Linda Fisher, owner of Cardinal Insurance Group, was selected as Women’s Council of Realtors 2012 Affiliate of the Year for the northern Michigan chapter. She has served as WCR’s ways and means chair committee, chair of strategic planning as well as the chair and co-chair of WCR’s annual “Bras For A Cause” cancer fundraiser.
n Rehmann, a financial services firm, has announced the promotion of Troy Kierczynski to the position of senior auditor at their Traverse City location. He will be leading audit and compliance engagements primarily for higher education, commercial and governmental clients. Cathy Shoemaker has been named as a senior tax manager. Kadra Stec will become a senior auditor.
n Traverse Legal, PLC has opened a new office in Richmond, Va. with associate attorney, Julia Bishop. She will serve East Coast clients and be able to practice in both the federal and state courts in Virginia. Administrative functions will remain in Traverse City.
