Traverse City Chamber selects officers, directors


TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce has selected new officers and directors for 2013.

Rachel Roe, assistant general counsel for Munson Healthcare, is the new board chair with Mark Eckhoff, president of Fifth Third Bank Northern Michigan, as vice chair. Jeff Connolly, president of West Michigan operations for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, will serve in the newly combined role of secretary/treasurer.

New directors include Karen Browne, president/CEO of TBA Credit Union; Denise Busley, co-owner of Grand Traverse Pie Co.; and Dr. Daniel Webster, community assistant dean for Michigan State University's Traverse City Campus.

Warren Call, senior portfolio manager at Huntington Investment Co., is the board representative from the chamber's Young Professionals program.

Returning directors include Bonnie Alfonso of Alfie; Don Coe of Black Star Farms, who also chairs the Traverse Bay Economic Development Corp.; Chris Lambert of Northern Title Agency Inc.; Kathleen McManus of Munson Medical Center; Mike Meindertsma of Northwestern Michigan Financial Network; Chris Morse of Rehmann; Eric Okerstrom of Hagerty; Kim Pontius of the Traverse Area Association of Realtors; Tammy Tarsa of Integrity Home Health Care; Terry Umlor of Springfield Commercial Roofing; and Brad Van Dommelen of the Traverse City Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Tony Anderson, general manager of Cherry Electric Cooperative, remains on the board as immediate past president. Outgoing directors are Mike Buell, John Cueter, Peg Jonkhoff, Brett McGreaham, Karen Soderholm and Troy Terwilliger.
