Recognition

n Jim McDonnell, of the Ford Insurance Agency of Traverse City, has qualified to receive the Golden Eagle Award from the National Association of Health Underwriters.

n Forest Gallery, of Glen Arbor, has been nominated for two awards, Top Retailer and Best Visual Merchandising, by Niche Magazine. The program recognizes the nation's best craft retailers, artisan nonprofits, museums and guilds. Award winners will be published in the Autumn 2009 issue of Niche.

n Joseph E. Quandt, of Zimmerman, Kuhn, Darling, Boyd, Quandt and Phelps PLC in Traverse City, was selected for the 2010 edition of the The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of environmental law.

Personnel

n Hilton Hotels Corporation (Hilton) has hired Jonas E. Neihardt, a Traverse City native, as senior vice president of government affairs. Neihardt will report to Richard Lucas, executive vice president and general counsel. Hilton plans to relocate global headquarters to McLean, Va., this month.

n Megan Umulis, last year's National Cherry Festival queen, joined the staff of Village Press Inc., of Traverse City, as a marketing and sales executive. She is a recent graduate of Michigan State University.

n The Bank of Northern Michigan recently added Debbie Highway, Karie Lambert and Kerry Jesse to its mortgage team, bank executive vice president John Paul announced.
