Small business award

TRAVERSE CITY — Nominations for the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Hagerty Small Business of the Year are due by Friday, Feb. 7.

The award is open to for-profit companies in the five-county area with up to 150 employees that have been in business for at least three years. Nominators may nominate up to 10 businesses. Nominated companies receive a letter informing them of their nomination and are invited to complete an application. A panel of judges reviews the applications and the nominations are trimmed to the top 10 finalists, which are then visited and evaluated by the panel.

Online workshop

TRAVERSE CITY — The Michigan Small Business Development Center will offer an online workshop for current and future business owners seeking to develop or update their business plans.

“Venture Plan Online” is an eight-week workshop that gives participants online access to small business experts, business planning software and resources needed to complete a business plan. The series meets from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 4 to March 25. Workshops also will be offered starting March 5, April 1, May 7 and June 3.

Sage 100 ERP support

TRAVERSE CITY — Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth will sponsor a Sage 100 ERP User Support Group on Thursday, Feb. 13.

The meeting will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth training room at the Delta Center, 415 Munson Ave. Participation is open to all new and continuing users of Sage 100 ERP, formerly known as MAS 90/200. There is no charge.
