BATTLE CREEK (AP) — A 57-year-old Indiana man has been sentenced to at least three years in prison in an embezzlement case from Battle Creek.
Authorities say James Korson took more than $500,000 from Pyper Products. The Angola, Ind., man pleaded no contest to embezzlement in Calhoun County Circuit Court, and the Battle Creek Enquirer reported he was sentenced Friday to 3 to 20 years in prison.
Korson told the court he’s willing to accept responsibility, make reparations and rebuild his life.
Battle Creek police say Korson took the money between 2005 and 2009 while he was working as a controller.
Korson already is serving a 20-month to 15-year prison sentence after a plea to embezzling money from a Jackson County company, where he worked after leaving Pyper.
