Business plan training

TRAVERSE CITY — A venture start workshop for business owners and individuals considering self-employment will be offered by the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center in Traverse City.

Workshops on how to develop a business plan will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m., beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3 for four consecutive Tuesdays through Sept. 24 in the Parsons-Stulen building on NMC’s Aero Park Campus.

Grant workshops

TRAVERSE CITY — The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs will hold a grant program workshop in anticipation of projected funding increases for the FY 2014 program. NorthSky Nonprofit Network as the regranting agency for MCACA’s District 10 Minigrant Program will also be conducting local minigrant workshops and offering technical assistance during August.

Local workshops will be held at noon, Friday, Aug. 16 in Traverse City; 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21 in Manistee; and at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21 in Cadillac. Pre-registration is not required.

Health care update

TRAVERSE CITY — Michigan Chamber Services will hold a workshop “Health Care Reform Update: Employer Guidelines for 2014” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Grand Traverse Resort.

SCORE workshop

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City SCORE is offering a free workshop for entrepreneurs who want to learn more about how to create a business plan. The workshop, Preparing Your Business Plan, will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., on Tuesday, August 13, in the McGuire Room at the Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Ave.
