Shopping events planned in downtown TC

TRAVERSE CITY -- Several special events during the holiday shopping season are planned by the Downtown Traverse City Association.

The annual arrival of Santa and Christmas tree lighting will be held Nov. 27. A community sing-a-long of holiday carols starts at 5:15 p.m. with the tree lighting at Front and Cass streets at 5:30 p.m.

Ladies Night is Dec. 10 from 5 to 9 p.m. as downtown stores will offer specials, free food and refreshments and free gift wrapping. The Downtown Open House is Dec. 11, where most downtown shops will be open until 10 p.m. and live entertainment and caroling will be featured. Men's Night is Dec. 17, also featuring specials, food and refreshments, prizes and other activities.

Two-hour free parking at the Larry C. Hardy parking deck downtown is also available through the holidays, along with free parking after 5 p.m. and on weekends.
