n Brad Dyksterhouse and Cindy Rutherford joined The Bank of Northern Michigan's Traverse City location to expand the bank's capabilities with U.S. Small Business Administration and U.S. Department of Agriculture guaranteed loans.
n Burt Williams joined Century 21 Sleeping Bear Realty in Frankfort as a new sales associate.
n BlueWare Inc. of Cadillac has named Celina Gamble vice president of professional services. Gamble is a registered health information administrator, and was named the 2009 Outstanding Professional of the Year by the Florida Health Information Management Association.
n Several staff members were recently promoted at Hagerty Insurance Agency Inc. in Traverse City. Scott Chaussee was promoted to vice president of actuarial and information services; Rebecca Davis is the new product marketing manager; Todd Steed was named auto sales and service regional manager; Mark Payne is plant engineering manager; Traci Konzer is operations manager; and Mike Jager was promoted to manager of sales and national accounts.
Certifications
n Jamie J. Martin, a portfolio manager at Condominium Association and Property Management Inc. in Traverse City, has been named a certified manager of community associations by the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers.
n Jeanne Snow, executive director of the Regional Community Foundation, recently received renewal of her Certified Fund Raising Executive designation. Snow has had her CFRE since 1990.
Recognition
n The Comfort Inn hotel of Traverse City received the Best Renovation/Re-design award from Choice Hotels International Inc. The award is part of the Awards for Property Excellence awards program from Choice Hotels, franchisor of the Comfort brand. The Comfort Inn hotel is one of only three Choice brand hotels in the state to receive a 2009 APEX award.
n Elk Rapids Business and Professional Women recently honored Melanie White as their 2009 Woman of Achievement. A BPW member for about three years, White has served as treasurer and is currently the vice president. An LPN, she works at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire.

Anniversary
n D.H. Baker Dental Laboratory, on Aero Park Drive in Traverse City, celebrates its 30th anniversary on Nov. 1. In honor of the milestone, the lab is holding a food drive for the months of November and December, offering a discount for services to all doctors who donate a bag of non-perishable food items.
