Personnel

n Major Jeffery Kyff accepted command of the Civil Air Northern Michigan Group from outgoing commander Capt. Josephine Hendrix recently. Maj. Kyff, presently the Chief Pilot of the Michigan Wing, will further develop the Traverse City Composite Squadron. Maj. Kyff is an anesthesiologist at Munson Medical Center and serves as a member of the Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team and is a FAA Designated Aviation Medical Examiner.

n Ann E. Eckerly and Paula M. Barber have joined The Larkin Group's Commercial Lines Department in Traverse City. Eckerly is a risk management and sales professional. Barber is a commercial service agent.

n Jonathan J. Siebers has joined the Grand Rapids office of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge as a shareholder in the business and real estate practice departments. The firm also has offices in Ann Arbor and Traverse City.

Recognition

n Lee Hornberger, James Saffell and Wanda Joseph received top awards for their volunteer services at Conflict Resolution Services. Hornberger was honored with the Pinnacle Award for delivering the highest hours of pro bono mediation services in 2008-09. Saffell won the Prodigy Award, given to the CRS trainee who becomes fully accredited, then volunteer mediates the most hours. Joseph took the Pundit Award for volunteering the most hours to train and coach other CRS mediators.

Certification

n Scott Kennard, president and owner of Wentworth Builders of Harbor Springs, has recently received his Certified Green Professional certification from the National Association of Home Builders. Recipients must participate in a Green Home Certification Program that focuses on guidelines regarding green building and business practices.
