Kingsley man, daughter killed after crash with plow truck

KINGSLEY — A father and daughter from Kingsley died after a crash with a Grand Traverse County Road Commission snow plow truck, police said.

A vehicle carrying David Pipoly, 52, and Christa Pipoly, 13, was traveling west on Sparling Road and failed to stop at the Summit City Road intersection on Sunday about 8:55 a.m., Michigan State Police said.

The vehicle was struck by a plow truck traveling north on Summit City Road.

A second passenger and the driver of the plow truck were transported to Munson Medical Center.

State police continue to investigate. It was unknown if those involved wore seat belts, police said.

Troopers were assisted by the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Department, Metro Fire, Blair Township and Kingsley EMS.
