Traverse City: Police identify man in fatal cab crash

Traverse City — A teen who stole a cab in downtown Traverse City, then died in a crash on Front Street, is identified as Jeremy David-Paul Schwierking of Traverse City.

Schwierking, 18, lived on Glenview Drive.

He previously lived in Rapid City.

Traverse City police said Schwierking stole a cab in the 100 block of South Union Street on Saturday at 2:30 a.m. While police were investigating, the cab crashed in the 600 block of East Front Street in front of the Holiday Inn. Schwierking was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
