3:25 pm: GT authorities seek escapee

TRAVERSE CITY -- Authorities continue to search for an inmate worker who escaped from his job assignment.

Jacob Allen Sowers, 33, left the Goodwill store on Airport Road in Traverse City around 11 a.m. today, according to a police statement. Authorities describe Sowers as a tall, white man with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen headed toward Cass Road wearing a yellow Grand Traverse County Jail T-shirt under a brown coat, with blue jeans.

He was placed in the Grand Traverse County Jail last December after he failed community corrections on his third drunken driving offense.
