Man sought in gas station robbery

TRAVERSE CITY — Police are looking for a man who robbed a gas station.

A man walked into the Cherry Knoll Shell station on Hammond Road at about 5 a.m. today and demanded cash and Newport cigarettes. The clerk did so, then was told to go into the bathroom while the suspect left. No weapon was seen or implied.

The suspect was in his 30s or 40s. He wore sunglasses, a baseball cap and a gray hooded sweatshirt.
