Second man dies, victims' names released

ALBA — A second man died following a crash on U.S. 131 south of Alba, authorities said.

The passenger, Scott Alan Underwood, 42, of Grand Rapids, died Thursday night after the sport utility vehicle in which he rode collided with a logging truck that afternoon, Antrim County Undersheriff David Kopkau said.

The man was flown to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

The SUV driver, Robert Weaver, 44, of Rockford, died at the scene.

The crash happened about 1:10 p.m. Thursday, when the SUV apparently crossed the center line and struck the semi. The truck's driver, Gerald Edward Keiser, 64, of Indian River, was uninjured.
