---- — The @news:Antrim County High Tea for Breast Cancer Prevention@news: presented a check for $5,000 to @news:Munson Healthcare’s Mammography Assistance Fund@news: in recognition of the financial support provided to Antrim County residents.
The Mammography Assistance Fund helps to pay for mammograms for patients who do not have insurance or the ability to pay for the screening. The ACHT is a local, all volunteer nonprofit organization which has partnered with Munson’s Smith Family Breast Health Center, the Health Department of Northwest Michigan and East Jordan Family Health Center to provide education and awareness about breast health and to ensure that all residents have access to mammography regardless of insurance coverage. Over 260 Antrim County women received free mammograms in 2012.
Michigan Legacy Art Park@news: received a $1,000 grant from the @news:Community Foundation’s Access to Recreation Endowment@news: to support the development of a master plan to specifically address accessibility issues and create a plan for future development and maintenance of the Art Park.
This grant helps to match a $5,000 planning grant from @news:Rotary Charities@news: for the same purpose. Art Park board, staff and key stakeholders are working with the Johnson Hill Land Ethics Studio to develop a master plan that will be unveiled in the spring.
