Kalkaska County: one gallon — Lyndsey Czuk and Mia Jones; 14 gallons — Jerry Newman.
Leelanau County: one gallon — Carolyn Wollenhaupt, Sharri Rogers, Dana Allen, David Easter and Richard Kiernan; two gallons — Mary Kolarik; three gallons — Amanda Welch; four gallons — Madonna Jackson, Diane Taghon and Mary Hagan; six gallons — Michael Jarvis; and 12 gallons — Philip Cochran.
Wexford County: one gallon — David Taylor, Joanne Ordiway, Stephanie Pavwoski, Marietta Bontrager, Alan Jewett, Gerald Corwin, Megan Payne and David Handy; two gallons — Karl Tomaszewski; and 10 gallons — Loralyn Mcnitt.
n Grand Traverse County Resource Recovery (RecycleSmart) has announced that American Waste has been selected as the 2012 Take it Back Recycling Program “Recycler of the Year,” for helping Grand Traverse County residents reduce, reuse and recycle materials that would otherwise end up in the landfill.
American Waste has provided and promoted waste diversion programs in the county including: expansion of #3-#7 plastic recycling; hosting Clean Up-Green Up recycling events; offering 96 gallon recycle carts and single stream recycling; having a state-of-the-art material recycling facility where 30 to 50 percent of the trash received is now recycled; supporting RecycleSmart special events; and promoting reuse by washing old wine bottles and selling them back to wineries.
