“Many Rooms,” a ministry of Family of Faith Lutheran Church in Traverse City, has received Munson Healthcare’s Community Health Hero Award.
The ministry pairs up people in the community who have a spare room in their home that they are willing to share, with visitors traveling long distances for outpatient medical services or visiting loved one at Munson Medical Center.
Family Practice physician Patrick H. Friedli, MD, recently passed the American Board of Obesity Medicine certification exam for obesity medicine physicians and became certified in the subspecialty of obesity medicine. He was among only 158 physicians nationally who successfully completed this year’s exam.
Dr. Friedli is the medical director of the Munson Medical Center Healthy Weight Center. He also practices at Creekside Clinic and Sports Medicine, 1225 W. Front St., suite C., in Traverse City.
Munson Medical Center oncologists recently expanded their participation in weekly tumor boards with the University of Michigan Health System’s Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Munson oncologists began participating in University of Michigan Health System’s weekly liver tumor conferences in October 2013 and pancreas tumor conferences in February. The conferences allow Munson oncologists to connect with specialists and sub-specialists at the Comprehensive Cancer Center in Ann Arbor to review and discuss the medical condition and treatment options for specific patients.
