Sandra Carden, director of Union/Yoga, LLC, recently announced that the following students completed all requirements of Yoga Alliance standards and are now recognized as Certified Yoga Teachers. The 28-day training took place at Solace Institute, Boyne Mountain Resort, Boyne Falls.
The students are: Kimberly Simon of Petoskey and Charlevoix; Jessica Ryan of Traverse City and Frankfort, Paul Kellogg of Kingsley, Phyllis Crozier of Boyne City, Amy Vipond of Charlevoix, Loretta Cwalinski of Gaylord, and Pattie Coffaro of Lake Leelanau and Cincinnati.
Michigan State University College of Human Medicine recently honored Traverse City Campus Community Assistant Dean Daniel Webster, MD, FAAFP, with its Outstanding Community Faculty Award.
Webster has led the MSU-CHM Traverse City Campus since it opened in 2009. At the campus, third- and fourth-year medical students serve in clerkshops, working with high-quality, committed physicians. Basic eight-week clerkships include inpatient and ambulatory rotations in OB/GYN, family medicine, psychiatry, internal medicine, pediatrics and surgery. Advanced clerkships and electives complete the 77-week program. Graduates receive an MD degree and go on to residency programs.
