Janet Isabell, Planned Parenthood of West and Northern Michigan Director of Quality and Risk Management, received the Michigan Reproductive Health Distinguished Service Award. It recognizes individuals for outstanding contributions to reproductive health in Michigan.
Isabell is a women’s health nurse practitioner and has served with Planned Parenthood for more than 36 years. Before assuming her current role, Isabell worked directly with clients as a clinician and supervised staff as a health care manager. She received the award in September at the annual Michigan Family Planning Update statewide conference at Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville.
Katie Hinze of Traverse City has joined the staff of the Grand Traverse Pavilions as a physical therapist.
Hinze has a bachelor of science degree from Michigan State University and a doctorate in physical therapy from Oakland University. She has seven years of experience in outpatient physical therapy.
Dr. David Canon of Traverse Vision in Traverse City has been board certified by the American Board of Optometry and now has the title Diplomate, American Board of Optometry (ABO).
Dr. Canon completed an accredited residency or a series of rigorous postgraduate activities. He then passed a computer-based examination on issues spanning the scope of practice of optometry. He has enrolled in the ABO’s 10-year Maintenance of Certification program designed to allow the doctor of optometry to demonstrate dedication to keeping current in the field of optometry and delivering quality patient care.
